BMW Custom Bike Builders, Kevils Speed Shop choose a Davida helmet design to inspire the paintwork for their custom bike.
Wanting a daily ride, Scott commissioned Kevils Speed Shop to build his BMW R80 Café Racer. Kevils told Scott to go away and buy a helmet in a design he loved and they would match the bike to his new helmet. Scott picked one of the Davida helmet designs that is inspired by classic BMW racing colours and stripes.
All Davida helmet designs are based on motorcycle street or track culture. With more than 100 different colourways produced by Davida as standard, Scott didn’t have much of problem selecting the Davida Helmet design he wanted . All Scott had to do was get his right size and order it. He waited just 2 weeks.
After 30 years in business Kevil Speed Shop know custom bike building can involve making agonising decisions about the paintwork, usually followed by a custom helmet design to match. Now by choosing the helmet design to inspire the bike’s paintwork they’ve hit on way to remove the agony from this process.
In this case the inspiration from the Davida helmet design was not limited to just the paintwork on Scott’s BMW R80 Café Racer. Kevils also called it ‘ The Speedster’. The Davida Speedster helmet was launched in the 1990’s and is still produced today. The significant improvements made to the Davida Ninety2 over the past year or so has made the Ninety 2 very very similar to the Davida Speedster. The Davida Ninety 2 is the lowest profile road legal helmet Made in England.
